Foundation piles or caissons are engineered to support all types of structures such as foundations, retaining walls, and swimming pools. Drilled piles are also frequently utilized to stabilize failing hillsides. In short, a drill rig is used to bore a hole through unstable soil in order to reach bedrock with a higher bearing capacity.
